The Signs of Joy exhibition was our first open community art show at the HIVE, running from August to September 2022, and was a brilliant success.

We asked local artists to contribute works that explored what joy meant to them; all of the works in the show express or discuss this feeling somehow. The aim of this exhibition was to celebrate this joy, but to also celebrate the massive range and intensity of talent in Ipswich.

Part of the HIVE’s ethos is to be a platform for the community, and through our art shows we aim to give these fantastic local creatives a voice. This was a debut exhibition for quite a few contributors, many of whom were hobbyists or people who created in their downtime and had never taken the leap to exhibit their work before. We’re proud to say we’ve been host to such fresh, fantastic talent, and to put fresh eyes on it, too!
